UK Sends Gravehawk Systems to Ukraine Amid Peace Talks

The UK has started providing Ukraine with the innovative Gravehawk air defense system, which adapts Soviet-era R-73 missiles for ground launch from disguised shipping containers. By utilizing Ukraine's existing missile stockpile, Gravehawk boosts air defense capabilities against Russian drones and missiles without the need for new production. The system's development, funded jointly by the UK and Denmark, took less than a year and costs £1 million per launcher. Two units are already operational, with 15 more planned for delivery. This comes amid ongoing peace discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, as well as NATO's acknowledgment of the challenges in restoring Ukraine's pre-2014 borders. While the UK's Defense Secretary maintains strong military support for Ukraine, suggesting a critical year ahead, the U.S. has indicated that territorial concessions might be necessary for peace.
