Board Game, Toy Companies Sue Trump Over Tariffs

Multiple American board game and educational toy companies, including Stonemaier Games, XYZ Game Labs, Spielcraft Games, Rookie Mage, Tinkerhouse Games, Learning Resources, and hand2mind, have filed lawsuits against the Trump administration over steep tariffs on products manufactured in China. These companies argue that the tariffs, set at 145% for most Chinese-made goods, threaten their survival, increase operational costs dramatically, and could make their products unaffordable for consumers and schools. The lawsuits contend that President Trump exceeded his constitutional authority by unilaterally imposing these tariffs, which they argue should fall under Congressional power, not the executive branch. Plaintiffs emphasize that relocating manufacturing to the U.S. is not currently feasible due to lack of domestic capacity and higher costs, and that tariffs are harming the very American businesses they were purported to protect.
