IDF Kills Hamas Gunmen amid International Aid Offers
About two dozen Western and European countries led by Canada offered financial aid, medical staff and equipment to treat Gaza patients in the occupied West Bank and urged Israel to restore a medical corridor to allow evacuations to Palestinian territory; the United States was not among the signatories. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Fox News Turkey does not view Hamas as a terrorist organization but as a “resistance group,” and U.S. reports say President Trump will present an American proposal to Arab leaders to try to end the Gaza war. The Israel Defense Forces said troops killed Hamas gunmen who opened fire on forces in Gaza City; a Givati Brigade officer was seriously wounded and Palestinian medical sources reported dozens killed across the Strip since dawn. Israeli air defenses intercepted a rocket fired toward the border community of Nir Oz, and the IDF said strikes destroyed buildings used to launch rockets and hit weapons-manufacturing sites and tunnel shafts; the military released drone and tank footage showing a fleeing gunman killed. The IDF said multiple divisions struck more than 100 terror targets across Gaza, killing numerous militants, and separately reported the death of Maj. Shahar Netanel Bozaglo in northern Gaza while other soldiers were wounded by sniper fire.
