FBI Arrests Texas Man for ISIS Support

The FBI arrested 28-year-old Anas Said in Houston for allegedly planning a terrorist attack and providing material support to ISIS. Said, who has been under investigation since 2017 for his pro-ISIS activities, expressed a desire to execute a '9/11-style' attack and targeted local military recruitment centers and synagogues. Court documents reveal that he had created ISIS propaganda, expressed intentions to kill military personnel who supported Israel, and discussed researching security measures at targeted locations. Despite previously claiming to have distanced himself from ISIS, he was found to be actively using multiple social media accounts to promote the terrorist group's ideology. Prosecutors argue Said poses a flight risk due to his desire to return to Lebanon and join ISIS. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
