Hakeem Jeffries Condemns Thanksgiving Bomb Threats

House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned a series of bomb threats targeting Democratic lawmakers from Connecticut and several Trump nominees, which occurred over the Thanksgiving recess. The threats, reported to include detailed messages of pipe bombs and swatting incidents, were signed with 'MAGA', the slogan associated with Donald Trump's campaign. No credible explosives were found at the homes of the targeted lawmakers, which included Reps. Jim Himes, Jahana Hayes, and Sen. Chris Murphy, among others. Jeffries emphasized the unacceptability of violence against elected officials and called for maximum protection for lawmakers and their families. He reiterated that such threats would not intimidate House Democrats from fulfilling their duties. The FBI is aware of the threats and is collaborating with local law enforcement to address the situation.
