Car fire in Cedar Hill kills person, dog

A tragic car fire in Cedar Hill on Tuesday evening resulted in the deaths of one person and a dog. Police responded around 7:40 p.m. to a parking lot at East Beltline Road and Joe Wilson Road, where smoke was seen billowing from a vehicle. A man exiting a store informed officers that his friend and dog were trapped inside. Despite the efforts of the Cedar Hill Fire Department to extinguish the flames, both the occupant and the dog were found deceased at the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released, and authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Police have not yet determined why the occupant was unable to escape the vehicle.
