Federal Judges Block Trump Immigration Orders Amid White House Criticism
President Donald Trump has strongly criticized federal judges who have blocked or challenged his administration's immigration policies, portraying them as political adversaries undermining his authority and national security. Notably, U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs issued a temporary restraining order preventing the administration from revoking Harvard University's enrollment of international students, a move linked to concerns about antisemitism on campus. Additionally, U.S. District Judge Brian E. Murphy ruled that the Trump administration violated a court order by deporting eight migrants to South Sudan without sufficient notice, which led Trump and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt to condemn the judge and the judiciary as out of control and obstructive. Judge Murphy emphasized the migrants were not given a meaningful opportunity to object, a violation of a prior injunction. Trump has repeatedly framed such judicial interventions as politically motivated, accusing judges of acting as "left-wing activists" and threatening to have the Supreme Court intervene. These clashes reflect ongoing tensions between the executive branch and the judiciary over immigration enforcement and broader executive authority.
