D.C. AG Sues StubHub Over Hidden Fees

Washington, D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb has filed a lawsuit against StubHub, alleging the company engages in deceptive 'drip pricing' practices that mislead consumers and violate local consumer protection laws. The lawsuit claims StubHub hides mandatory fees until the final stages of the purchasing process, significantly inflating the ticket prices and making it difficult for consumers to comparison shop. Since 2015, StubHub has reportedly sold nearly 5 million tickets in D.C., generating $118 million in hidden fees. Schwalb seeks an injunction to stop these practices, along with civil penalties and restitution for affected consumers.
