Kansas Court Blocks Title IX Gender Rule

A Kansas court ruling has temporarily blocked the Biden administration's new Title IX Rule, which reinterprets sex discrimination to include gender identity, from being implemented in some South Carolina schools, colleges, and universities. The rule, slated to take effect on August 1, would require schools receiving federal funding to accommodate students' and teachers' gender identities and use their preferred pronouns. Additionally, a federal judge has blocked the rule in Texas, making it the 15th state where the regulations are suspended, citing potential irreparable harm to state institutions. The Biden administration has requested a pause on portions of these rulings while the cases are appealed. South Carolina awaits a ruling on its own case against the Title IX changes.
