Venezuela Warns UN of US Immoral Military Threat Amid Caribbean Tensions

He condemned the US for using "vulgar and perverse lies" to justify military actions, including recent strikes on alleged drug-trafficking boats in the Caribbean, which resulted in multiple deaths and sparked criticism as potential extrajudicial executions. Venezuela called for international solidarity against what it describes as US aggression and warned that these actions risk destabilizing the broader Latin American and Caribbean region. Despite US assertions that the military presence and strikes are part of an anti-drug campaign, UN and US data suggest Venezuela is not a major source of cocaine entering the US, undermining Washington's justification. The US has deployed eight warships and a nuclear-powered submarine to the southern Caribbean, with President Donald Trump confirming multiple strikes on suspected drug vessels. Colombian President Gustavo Petro also condemned the US actions at the UN, demanding legal accountability for the strikes, which have escalated tensions between Washington and Caracas.
