Gibson, who initially filed the lawsuit alongside two associates, informed the court on January 27 that he was dismissing all claims with prejudice, following months of challenges, including missing court hearings and representing himself after parting ways with his legal team. The incident reportedly involved a misunderstanding at a Los Angeles store where Gibson left his associates to pay with his credit card, but a cashier later demanded his identification to complete the transaction. Home Depot has consistently denied wrongdoing, stating that their commitment to diversity and respect is paramount. One of Gibson's associates intends to continue pursuing the case against Home Depot, which is scheduled for trial in April. Gibson's decision to withdraw came as he faced potential fines for his court attendance issues, which became moot after his withdrawal.
