Over 60 US Firms Join Business Mission to Vietnam

A delegation of over 60 major U.S. companies, including tech giants like Apple and Boeing, will participate in a business mission to Vietnam next week, organized by the US-ASEAN Business Council. This mission comes as Vietnam reviews its tariffs on U.S. goods, including liquefied natural gas and high-tech products, amid the threat of additional tariffs from President Trump. The visit aims to strengthen economic ties and alleviate concerns from U.S. companies regarding potential tariffs that could impact their operations in Vietnam. Participants include established firms like Intel, Coca-Cola, and Nike, as well as those looking to expand in the region, such as Amazon and Bell Textron. Notably, Vietnamese officials have expressed a desire to enhance imports of LNG from the U.S. to reduce a significant trade surplus that reached over $123 billion in 2024. The delegation will meet with key Vietnamese leaders, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, to discuss future collaborations.
