India, Pakistan Clash After 'Operation Sindoor', Ceasefire
India launched 'Operation Sindoor' in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, conducting precision strikes against nine terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir that reportedly killed over 100 terrorists, including individuals linked to the IC814 hijacking and Pulwama blast. Indian officials stated that only verified terrorist sites were targeted to limit collateral damage, with both the Indian Air Force and Navy taking part. Following the strikes, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, which was publicly confirmed by US President Donald Trump and both national governments. Within hours, Pakistan broke the truce by launching drone and artillery attacks across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan, resulting in blackouts, air raid sirens, and renewed military alertness. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and other sources reported explosions and intercepts of Pakistani drones, highlighting the truce's quick collapse. The situation remains tense, with both countries on high alert and international calls for restraint and renewed dialogue.
