Trump Media Closes $105M Crypto.com CRO Token Purchase

Trump Media and Technology Group Corp., led by President Trump, has finalized a major purchase agreement with Crypto.com to acquire 684.4 million Cronos (CRO) tokens, representing about 2% of the circulating supply, in a transaction valued at approximately $105 million structured as a 50% stock and 50% cash exchange. This strategic partnership includes integrating the CRO token into Trump Media's platforms, Truth Social and Truth+, enabling a rewards system and enhancing user engagement through cryptocurrency. Trump Media will secure the tokens using Crypto.com's institutional-grade custody solution, allowing it to stake the tokens for additional revenue generation. CEO Devin Nunes emphasized the potential of CRO as a versatile utility token for fast and safe payments, while Crypto.com CEO Kris Marszalek highlighted their commitment to supporting Trump Media and increasing CRO's value. The deal is part of Trump Media's broader strategy to expand its digital asset capabilities and strengthen its position in the fintech and social media sectors. This collaboration also marks Crypto.com as a new investor in Trump Media, reflecting deeper mutual cooperation between the companies.
