Christina Hines launches congressional bid for Michigan's 10th District

Christina Hines, a former special victims prosecutor in Wayne County, has announced her candidacy for Michigan's 10th Congressional District, currently held by Republican Rep. John James. Her campaign focuses on her background as a working mom and a prosecutor, emphasizing her commitment to protecting families in the community. She is the second Democrat to enter the race after narrowly losing a county prosecutor contest in 2024. Hines believes the upcoming election could be competitive, especially if James decides to pursue a statewide office. She has received support from Carl Marlinga, who previously ran against James and sees Hines as a promising candidate for flipping the seat.
