BTS Completes Military Service as Suga Officially Discharged

Suga, the last member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has officially completed his mandatory military service in South Korea, marking the reunion of all seven band members. While the other members served in the army, Suga fulfilled his duties as a social service agent due to a prior shoulder injury. BTS had paused their music careers in 2022 to fulfill South Korea's conscription law, which mandates 18 to 21 months of service for able-bodied men aged 18 to 28, with limited exemptions excluding K-pop idols. The group’s label, Big Hit Music (now HYBE), announced Suga's discharge without public celebration, citing overcrowding concerns. BTS is anticipated to make a full comeback with their largest-ever world tour scheduled for 2026. Despite past controversies, including Suga's 2023 fine for drunk driving, fans and industry analysts are optimistic about their return to the global music stage.
