Jimmy Kimmel Live Returns After Affiliate Blackouts
Jimmy Kimmel Live! will return to Brooklyn for a five-night run Sept. 29–Oct. 3, taping original episodes before a live audience at the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s Howard Gilman Opera House — the show’s seventh visit to BAM. The lineup includes Bruce Springsteen (scheduled for Oct. 2 with Jeremy Allen White to promote Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, which opens Oct. 24), Tom Hanks, Stephen Colbert, Spike Lee, Emily Blunt, Ryan Reynolds, and musical guests Living Colour, Public Enemy, Geese and Reneé Rapp. The Brooklyn week follows a turbulent period after Kimmel’s Sept. 15 monologue about reactions to the fatal shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk prompted affiliate blackouts by Nexstar and Sinclair, both of which later restored the program after discussions with ABC. Kimmel’s return episode drew about 6.26 million viewers and a 0.87 rating among adults 18–49, the show’s biggest audience in years. Episodes will air weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC and stream the next day on Hulu.
