Uxbridge Stabbing Kills Binman; Suspect Charged

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, a well‑respected Greener Ealing binman, was fatally stabbed while walking his dog in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge on Monday after intervening in an attack; a 45‑year‑old man suffered life‑changing injuries and a 14‑year‑old boy was also wounded. Police arrested 22‑year‑old Safi Dawood at the scene — he was Tasered, required medical assessment and has been charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon — and detectives say the incident is not being treated as terrorism. Authorities say Dawood was known to the two injured victims but not to Mr Broadhurst, and officers continue to investigate the relationship between the people involved and the circumstances of the attack.
