Venezuelan Migrant Arrested for Rape in Colorado

Jesus Alberto Pereira Castillo, a 20-year-old Venezuelan migrant, was arrested in Denver after allegedly raping his boss's 14-year-old daughter while living in the family's basement in Colorado. The incident occurred on August 29, 2024, but Castillo fled before authorities arrived. After a nearly three-month search, he was located and taken into custody without incident. Castillo had crossed into the U.S. illegally in September 2023 and was released by Border Patrol due to overcrowding. Following the alleged assault, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on him. He has been charged with third-degree aggravated sexual assault and is being held without bond at the Jefferson County Detention Facility.
