Cowboys Reportedly Weighing Multiple Micah Parsons Trade Offers Amid Contract Dispute
The Dallas Cowboys are now open to listening to trade offers for All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons amid a protracted contract dispute. Parsons, who requested a trade on August 1 and has been holding out of practices due to dissatisfaction over his contract, is entering the final year of his rookie deal and seeks a new long-term extension. Owner Jerry Jones believed he had reached a handshake agreement on a five-year, $202.5 million contract for Parsons, but negotiations stalled partly due to Jones refusing to deal directly with Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta. While no trade is imminent, the Cowboys would likely demand multiple first-round picks and a record-setting contract extension from any acquiring team, making a trade a complex and costly proposition. Parsons has been medically cleared to play despite citing back tightness, and a grievance over his 2025 salary classification is pending, which could increase his earnings. The Cowboys hope to resolve the situation before their season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 4, but the possibility of a trade has become stronger than ever.
