Blaise Ingoglia, appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis as Florida's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in July 2025, has officially announced his campaign for a full term in the 2026 election, emphasizing his conservative platform focused on reducing waste, cutting taxes, and making Florida more affordable. Ingoglia has led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), conducting audits of local governments which have resulted in tangible tax savings and budget trims across various Florida counties and cities. His campaign highlights include a pledge to eliminate property taxes for homestead properties and holding insurance companies accountable, alongside a promise to fight against what he calls "governments gone wild." Despite an initial potential primary challenge from state Senator Joe Gruters, endorsed by President Donald Trump, Gruters' elevation to chair of the Republican National Committee removed that obstacle, allowing Ingoglia to focus on his record and campaign.
