Nationwide ‘Free America’ Protests Planned Over Fourth of July Weekend

As Americans prepare for Independence Day in 2025, a variety of events are planned across the country ranging from traditional celebrations to political protests. In Grand Island and surrounding communities, festivities include fireworks displays, living history weekends, rodeos, and special events like the Stolley Park Railroad holiday hours. Meanwhile, the 'Free America' movement, supported by the Women's March and the 50501 Movement, is organizing nationwide protests and community actions in all 50 states to challenge President Donald Trump's policies, emphasizing civic engagement and calls for economic justice, fair elections, and civil liberties. These protests follow previous large-scale demonstrations such as the June 14 'No Kings' protests and are scheduled to include rallies, marches, BBQs, and art events throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Additionally, in Naperville, a Freedom Ruck March supporting veterans will take place on July 4, followed by a BBQ and live music, culminating in a fireworks display at night.
