Mansfield Police Arrest Suspect in Fatal Shooting

Mansfield police arrested 21-year-old Elijah Hatton for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male on Cutting Horse Drive on Thursday. Police responded to a welfare check at approximately 4:30 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound, with citizens performing CPR. The victim was transported to a hospital where he later died. Hatton fled the scene prior to police arrival but was later apprehended by Mansfield SWAT officers at an apartment complex in East Dallas. The victim's identity has not been released due to his age. Police are continuing their investigation and urge anyone with information to contact them.
