In Calabar South, some polling units received materials as late as 1 PM, causing many voters to leave without casting their ballots. Reports indicated that Ward 11 experienced severe shortages of electoral materials, and opposition party agents raised concerns over potential misconduct in the election process. Voter turnout was notably low, with many polling units reporting only a handful of votes cast by mid-morning. Meanwhile, in Abia State, similar issues with late material distribution and absence of officials were reported, hampering the electoral process there as well. Despite these challenges, security personnel maintained a peaceful atmosphere throughout the election day.
