Eovaldi, Díaz, Lagrange Named July MLB Pitching Honorees
Nathan Eovaldi of the Texas Rangers was named the American League Pitcher of the Month for July after an outstanding performance, going 5-0 with a 0.59 ERA and 30 strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched. His dominance continued into August, exemplified by an 8-shutout innings start against the New York Yankees, raising his record to 10-3 with a 1.38 ERA and a WHIP of .084. Eovaldi's July ERA of .059 is the second-lowest for a single month in Rangers history, and he is considered a strong contender for the AL Cy Young Award. Meanwhile, Carlos Lagrange, a top prospect for the New York Yankees, earned Eastern League Pitcher of the Month honors in the minors with a 1.27 ERA and 31 strikeouts over 21.1 innings in July. In the National League, Edwin Díaz was recognized as the Reliever of the Month for his flawless 11 innings without an earned run, converting seven of eight save opportunities. These awards highlight outstanding pitching performances across Major League Baseball and its affiliates for July 2025.
