Passenger Restrained After Incident on AA Flight
On an American Airlines flight from Milwaukee to Dallas-Fort Worth, a Canadian passenger, Abdul-Al-Jabbar Oloruntoba Olaiya, attempted to open the cabin door mid-flight, prompting fellow passengers to restrain him using duct tape. The incident occurred as Olaiya grew agitated after a flight attendant denied his request to exit the plane immediately. Several passengers intervened to subdue him, using duct tape to restrain his wrists and ankles until the plane landed safely. Upon landing, DFW Airport police and the FBI took Olaiya into custody for a mental health evaluation. The flight attendant involved in the altercation sustained injuries to her wrist and neck and was treated at a hospital. American Airlines commended the quick actions of passengers and crew, highlighting the safety and security of their operations as a top priority.
