GM to Close Roswell IT Center, 300–325 Jobs

General Motors will close its Georgia IT Innovation Center in Roswell by the end of 2025, eliminating roughly 300–325 positions. GM said the move is part of a broader site-strategy shift to consolidate technical teams into targeted hubs and to align operations with AI-driven vehicle initiatives. Impacted employees will be offered severance; some may be offered transfers to other GM tech centers or remote roles, and certain staff may remain through mid-2026 to help wind down operations depending on skills and business needs. The Roswell center opened in 2013 as part of a multimillion-dollar investment, and the closure follows GM’s 2023 shutdown of its Chandler, Arizona IT center amid other recent salaried workforce reductions.
