Rivian Vans Now Available to All US Businesses

Rivian has expanded the sales of its commercial electric vans to all U.S. businesses, ending the exclusivity deal with Amazon that only allowed van sales to the e-commerce giant. This move opens up new revenue opportunities for Rivian as they have begun selling two models, the RCV 500 and RCV 700, priced at $79,900 and $83,900 respectively, to registered businesses. After the exclusivity ended in late 2023, Rivian conducted trials with large fleets such as AT&T and is now ready to sell vans to a broader market. Despite Amazon's initial order of 100,000 vans, only about 20,000 have been delivered, and Rivian is looking to increase sales with other commercial operators. These vans are equipped with features like automatic emergency braking and come with integrated software for fleet management, aiming to enhance the user experience and improve productivity. Rivian's decision to open up sales comes as part of their strategy to reduce losses and prepare for the launch of a more affordable SUV next year.
