Russian Missile, Drone Strikes Damage Khmelnytskyi Region, Kill One

On September 3, 2025, the Khmelnytskyi region in Ukraine was targeted by a series of Russian missile and drone attacks, resulting in significant damage to civilian infrastructure including homes, an educational institution, garages, public transport, and communal facilities. Ukrainian air defense successfully shot down multiple missiles and drones, though some penetrated defenses causing fires and structural damage, with power outages and disruptions to public transport reported. Tragically, a local man around 40 years old was killed during the strikes; rescue efforts involving search dogs were deployed to locate him. Despite the extensive damage and fires, there have been no other reported casualties in the Khmelnytskyi region, while other western areas like Lutsk and Znamyanka also experienced attacks, with injuries reported in the latter.
