Wayne Gretzky Sues Ex-Partner for Malicious Prosecution

Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky is embroiled in legal disputes stemming from a failed weight-loss gum business known as 'OMG.' After his former business partner, Veera Mahajan, filed a lawsuit in 2022 alleging fraud related to Gretzky's claims of losing 35 pounds through the product, Gretzky is now countersuing for malicious prosecution. He asserts that Mahajan's lawsuit was meritless and aimed at extorting a settlement from him, believing he would pay to avoid negative publicity. Mahajan had initially claimed Gretzky admitted to lying about his weight loss, which contributed to the company's failure, but later dismissed her own suit. In addition to Mahajan's claims, the founder of OMG, Steven Sparks, also has an ongoing lawsuit against Gretzky with similar allegations. Despite these legal challenges, Gretzky's reputation as an NHL icon remains intact as he continues to hold all-time scoring records.
