Two Men Killed Houston Park, Friend Arrested Arlington Murder

In Arlington, Texas, Jahlen Owen, 24, was arrested and charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of his friend Desmond McKay, 19, on June 2, 2025. McKay was shot multiple times in the parking lot of an apartment complex before Owen fled in McKay's car, which was later found near Owen's residence in Dallas. Owen voluntarily confessed to the shooting after turning himself in to police. In Houston, Charles Lopez, 25, was arrested and charged with capital murder after fatally shooting two men, Natanael Reyes, 68, and Guadalupe Flores, 74, who were ambushed and shot from behind while walking in Wildheather Park. Police believe the attack was not a robbery, as the victims still had their belongings, and Lopez confessed following a traffic stop where his vehicle was identified. Both cases remain under investigation as authorities seek additional information from the public.
