Arizona Judge Orders Release of Voter List

A Maricopa County Superior Court judge has ordered Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes to release the identities of over 218,000 registered voters who lack documentary proof of citizenship. This ruling follows a lawsuit filed by America First Legal, which argued that illegal aliens were improperly registered to vote. Fontes initially denied having a complete list of affected voters, attributing the issue to a coding error between the state's voter registration system and the Motor Vehicle Division. The court found no credible evidence that releasing the list would harm the voters or violate their privacy rights. The ruling has raised concerns about noncitizen voting and the integrity of the electoral process in a critical battleground state. Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes asserted that most individuals on the list are likely citizens, as the coding error does not affect federal elections.
