Florida Cabinet Approves Miami Land For Trump Presidential Library
The Florida Cabinet, led by Gov. Ron DeSantis, unanimously approved the conveyance of a 2.63-acre parcel of land in Miami-Dade County adjacent to the historic Freedom Tower for the establishment of the Donald J. Trump Presidential Library. The land, currently used as an employee parking lot for Miami Dade College's Wolfson Campus, marks the first presidential library in Florida and is expected to serve as a significant cultural and educational site. DeSantis and other state officials praised the move as beneficial for Florida, Miami, and Miami Dade College, highlighting the state's strong support for President Trump's agenda. Eric Trump, a trustee of the library foundation, described the project as honoring "the greatest President our Nation has ever known" and expressed gratitude to DeSantis and other officials for their support. The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Foundation has five years to advance the project, which is also supported by recent legislation granting the state authority over presidential libraries. The site’s proximity to the Freedom Tower, a symbol of freedom for Cuban refugees, adds historical significance to the library's location.
