ICE Names Two in NJ Child Sex Offender Arrests

ICE agents in New Jersey have arrested eight undocumented individuals with histories of child sex offenses as part of a federal operation targeting non-citizens convicted of child exploitation crimes. Among those most recently detained are Daniel Garcia Cruz of Mexico and Jeferson Isaac Flores Pineda of Honduras, both convicted of offenses involving children. The other arrestees include individuals from El Salvador, Ecuador, and Mexico, all previously convicted of crimes such as aggravated sexual assault, false imprisonment, and child endangerment. All eight are required to register as sex offenders in New Jersey and are in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. The arrests, conducted across Bergen, Hudson, Essex, and Sussex counties, are part of a broader enforcement effort by ICE and Homeland Security Investigations. ICE reiterated its ongoing commitment to removing individuals who pose a threat to public safety.
