Diddy Sentenced to 50 Months; Cassie Ventura Named

A federal judge sentenced Sean “Diddy” Combs to 50 months in prison after his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, and also ordered five years of supervised release and a $500,000 fine. The judge condemned Combs for subjecting two former girlfriends, including singer Cassie Ventura, to years of abuse and imposed a sentence below advisory guidelines; prosecutors had urged more than 11 years while his lawyers sought 14 months. Combs, who has been held since his September 2024 arrest, delivered tearful apologies in court while family members spoke in his defense; Ventura’s lawyer said the sentence recognizes the impact. With credit for time already served, Combs could potentially be released in less than three years. He was acquitted at trial of racketeering and sex-trafficking counts, and the case has spawned civil suits and a federal probe that have seriously damaged his public image and business interests.
