Shiv Sena (UBT) Criticizes Modi, Trump Over India-Pakistan Ceasefire Role

The Shiv Sena (UBT) has strongly criticized US President Donald Trump's role in announcing a ceasefire between India and Pakistan, questioning his authority and accusing the Indian government, particularly Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of compromising national sovereignty and violating the 1972 Simla Agreement which prohibits third-party intervention. In its party mouthpiece 'Saamana', the UBT accused Trump of acting unilaterally, bypassing Indian leadership and institutions, and questioned what deals were made for India to accept his ceasefire proposal without public or military knowledge. The editorial also condemned Trump as a businessman lacking the moral authority of global peace figures, highlighting his selective approach to conflicts by supporting Israel in Gaza while urging peace in India-Pakistan tensions. The Shiv Sena (UBT) praised Indian military responses against Pakistani attacks but raised concerns over unresolved issues, such as the whereabouts of terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam attack and incomplete military operations like 'Operation Sindoor'. Overall, the UBT portrayed the ceasefire announcement as undermining India's sovereignty and demanded greater transparency and accountability from the Indian government regarding its handling of the conflict and foreign interventions.
