Epstein Estate Plans to Provide Birthday Book to Congress Amid Oversight Investigation
The estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has agreed to turn over a 2003 leather-bound birthday book containing a suggestive note and drawing reportedly from President Donald Trump, following a subpoena from the House Oversight Committee. California Rep. Robert Garcia, a top Democrat on the committee, announced that the book and additional documents will be delivered by September 8 to aid ongoing investigations. The committee aims to highlight the stories of many Epstein victims who are scheduled to meet lawmakers soon, with Garcia demanding transparency and questioning what documents may be withheld by Trump and others. Trump denies writing the alleged explicit note or drawing a naked woman, despite evidence of his other drawings, and has sued the Wall Street Journal for defamation over the allegations. The Republican-led committee, chaired by James Comer, has also subpoenaed other records, including potential client lists, as part of its broader probe into Epstein’s network. The investigation continues amid calls to end cover-ups and bring the full truth to light regarding Epstein's associates and activities.
