TBI Director David Rausch reported that the gang, originally identified in a human trafficking bust years ago, has resurfaced in major cities such as Memphis after initially fleeing the state. This has prompted law enforcement agencies across Tennessee, including those in Nashville, Knoxville, and Chattanooga, to increase vigilance despite having no current active investigations or evidence of the gang's members. Congressman Andy Ogles and Governor Bill Lee are actively reviewing measures to address this threat, with Ogles emphasizing the broader implications of immigration on local crime. Furthermore, President Biden has sanctioned the gang, offering rewards for the capture of its leaders. The TBI is seeking additional funding to combat the growing threat posed by the gang's activities in the state.
