J.D. Vance's Surgery Amid Vice Presidential Transition

Vice President-elect JD Vance underwent a planned minor sinus surgery on Friday after attending a Senate swearing-in ceremony. Vance, who is transitioning from his role as an Ohio senator to vice president following Donald Trump's presidential victory, had the procedure at George Washington University Hospital. His spokesperson confirmed the surgery was long-planned and Vance is expected to return to work the next day. The surgery took place after Vance stood with newly elected Senators Bernie Moreno and Dave McCormick during their swearing-in by outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris. As Vance prepares to assume the vice presidency, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine will appoint a replacement senator until a special election determines who will complete Vance's term.
