Former Teacher Charged with Sexual Battery

Sergio Gonzalez, a former middle school teacher at A.C. New Middle School in Mesquite ISD, has been arrested for felony child grooming involving a 14-year-old student. Authorities have surveillance video showing Gonzalez spending the night at school with the student, which included inappropriate physical contact. In a separate case, Emily Nutley, a former teacher at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, has been indicted on six counts of sexual battery for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student under her supervision. Nutley allegedly sent explicit messages and photographs to the student and engaged in sexual acts with him both on and off campus. Both cases have raised concerns about the abuse of authority and trust in educational environments. Prosecutors emphasize the seriousness of these offenses, describing them as clear instances of child sexual abuse.
