Lord Coe for IOC president

Sebastian Coe, the current president of World Athletics and a two-time Olympic gold medallist, is among seven candidates vying to succeed Thomas Bach as president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), with the election scheduled for March 2025 in ancient Olympia, Greece. Other candidates include Kirsty Coventry, Zimbabwe's Sports Minister and the only woman in the race, David Lappartient, the head of cycling's governing body, and Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr., son of a former IOC president. The IOC's presidency has been held exclusively by men throughout its 130-year history, with Coventry poised to make history if elected. The election will involve a secret ballot among the IOC's 111 members, comprised of a diverse group of royalty, athletes, and sports leaders.
