Federal Disaster Declaration Provides $11.7M Aid Ohio, Marion Flood Victims

President Donald Trump has approved a major disaster declaration for Ohio and Marion counties in West Virginia, enabling federal assistance following devastating flash flooding in mid-June that killed nine people and caused extensive damage. The approval, announced nearly 40 days after the floods, unlocks $11.7 million in aid and allows the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide Individual Assistance for housing-related costs and Other Needs Assistance for personal property, medical expenses, and other damages.
