Hamas Denies Receiving Trump's 21-Point Gaza Plan
The Trump administration has presented a reported 21‑point ceasefire–hostage-release plan to Arab and Muslim leaders that seeks a post-war roadmap for Gaza, recognition of a Palestinian state, the removal of Hamas from future governance and the release of hostages reportedly within 48 hours of an agreement. Hamas and its officials say they have not been presented with any new ceasefire proposal and that talks have been suspended since an Israeli strike in Doha on Sept. 9. Media reports describe elements such as phased Israeli withdrawals and large prisoner exchanges, but Israel has not publicly confirmed details and some outlets' accounts of in-principle deals are denied by Hamas and Reuters. Fighting and Israeli strikes have continued across Gaza—Israel said it struck roughly 120–140 targets recently—while Gaza health authorities report tens of thousands killed, mass displacement and a widening humanitarian catastrophe. Israeli political divisions complicate prospects for a deal, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejecting Palestinian statehood and hard-right figures pushing measures including debate over a death‑penalty bill for attackers. With Trump due to meet Netanyahu, negotiations remain opaque and fragile as the war, the hostage crisis and civilian suffering continue to escalate.
