UF Clears Todd Golden After Title IX Investigation
The University of Florida has cleared men's basketball coach Todd Golden of all allegations following a four-month Title IX investigation into claims of sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, and stalking. The investigation, which began last September, was initiated after reports from the student newspaper, The Independent Florida Alligator, detailing allegations such as sending illicit photos and making unwanted advances. The university concluded that there was no evidence supporting these accusations, and the investigation has been dismissed. Golden's attorney, William Shepherd, criticized those who leaked confidential information during the process, suggesting attempts to create a false narrative. Throughout the investigation, Golden continued to coach, leading the Gators to a strong season with an 18-2 record. The case's closure allows Golden to focus on the remainder of the season while he considers potential legal action against his accusers.
