Israel Conducts Coordinated Airstrikes Targeting Iran’s Nuclear Sites

Israel has launched a significant military campaign against Iran targeting its nuclear program, conducting precise strikes on high-level military and nuclear sites with the aid of intelligence, spies, and advanced technology such as drones. Despite Iran's claims of successful retaliatory strikes, Israel reports significant damage to Iranian forces, including the elimination of a top military commander close to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Central to Israel's strategy is the challenge of reaching Iran's deeply buried nuclear enrichment facilities, particularly the Fordo site, which is fortified with extensive underground protections. To overcome this, Israel seeks access to the United States' Massive Ordnance Penetrator (GBU-57A/B), a large bunker-busting bomb capable of penetrating up to 60 meters of concrete and 200 feet underground, which is believed essential for destroying these fortified targets. While the US has so far withheld the bomb, political pressure, including from pro-Israel figures like Senator John Fetterman, is mounting for President Trump to deploy these powerful weapons in support of Israel's campaign. This operation, dubbed "Operation Rising Lion," was launched despite ongoing nuclear talks between the US and Iran, reflecting Israel's urgent priority to neutralize what it views as an imminent nuclear threat.
