London Baker Gains Fame with Celebrity Cakes

Keith Scovell, a 55-year-old amateur baker from north-west London, has gained viral fame on TikTok for his caricature cakes, including a recent creation of BBC's The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman featuring Tic Tac teeth and black icing. Scovell, who has a hearing impairment that has enhanced his ability to lip read and observe facial expressions, enjoys crafting cakes that evoke laughter and smiles. His humorous designs, which he describes as 'off-beat,' also include representations of celebrities such as Donald Trump and Oasis. Since starting to share his baking on social media late last year, his Winkleman cake has attracted nearly 200,000 views and over 30,000 likes. Scovell admits his baking skills are basic, yet he finds joy in the reactions his cakes elicit, emphasizing that if they make someone smile, that's what matters most. He plans to continue creating unique cakes as a means of spreading positivity.
