Ukraine Rejects Compromise on Sovereignty Amid Trump-Putin Talks

During the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha emphasized that Ukraine would not compromise on its sovereignty or territorial integrity in any peace negotiations with Russia. Ahead of a phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sybiha reiterated that Ukraine will not recognize any territories occupied by Russia and firmly supports the US-proposed 30-day ceasefire. He highlighted the need for strong international diplomacy to achieve a just and lasting peace, asserting that the conflict's resolution is of global importance. Sybiha outlined three fundamental principles Ukraine will uphold in negotiations: territorial integrity, independence in choosing international alliances, and unrestrained defense capabilities. He expressed Ukraine's readiness to engage in peace efforts while emphasizing that it is not the obstacle to achieving peace. The outcomes of the upcoming Trump-Putin conversation are anticipated to clarify the peace process.
