Russian Strikes Hit Multiple Ukrainian Regions, Kill 19

Russian missile and drone attacks on Tuesday killed between 17 and 19 civilians and wounded nearly 300 people across Ukraine, with the heaviest casualties in Dnipro where strikes hit schools, hospitals, kindergartens, and a passenger train. Additional fatalities and injuries occurred in the town of Samar and in the Kherson and Sumy regions, where residential areas and infrastructure were also targeted. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, attending a NATO summit in the Netherlands, urged Western allies to increase military support and investment in Ukraine's defense industry, warning that the attacks signal Russia's rejection of peace. Zelenskyy is expected to meet U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss sanctions and weapons deliveries amid ongoing uncertainty about U.S. aid. The strikes coincide with Russian claims of new territorial advances in Dnipropetrovsk and continued stalled peace talks. The United Nations estimates that over 12,000 Ukrainian civilians have died since the war began more than four years ago.
