Trump Administration Considers Releasing Ghislaine Maxwell Interview Transcripts
The Trump administration is considering the public release of audio recordings and transcripts from a late-July interview between Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for her role in Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking ring. The Justice Department recorded the more than nine-hour interview, which covered extensive details including information on about 100 individuals related to the Epstein case. Although no final decision has been made, sources indicate that if released, sensitive details such as victim names would be redacted, and the release could occur within weeks. President Donald Trump has expressed support for releasing the material but emphasized caution to avoid harming innocent people, trusting Blanche's judgment on what should be disclosed. The move comes amid increased pressure for transparency around the Epstein investigation, with some White House officials concerned about reigniting public controversy, while others see an opportunity to control the narrative. Additionally, Attorney General Pam Bondi has been instructed to seek the release of grand jury transcripts related to Maxwell and Epstein, though much of that testimony is already public, and congressional committees are also demanding access to Justice Department files on the matter.
