81-Year-Old Texas Man Charged with Roommate's Murder

Douglas Ervin, an 81-year-old man, has been charged with murder after he called 911 to report that he shot and killed his roommate, 59-year-old Gregory Johnson, at their home in Richardson, Texas. Ervin claimed Johnson was a 'difficult' roommate, and the incident occurred after Johnson allegedly made a rude comment. Upon police arrival, they found Johnson dead and a shotgun at the scene. Ervin has been placed in the Richardson City Jail with a bond set at $200,000, and the investigation is ongoing. A third person was present in the home during the shooting but was unharmed.
